Fishing
For the angler, Ardifuir boasts five miles of double bank salmon and trout fishing are available on the river Add. Allegedly navigated by Columba over a thousand years ago, the Add meanders over some of Poltalloch's low ground and round the base of Dunadd, where Scotland's ancient kings were inaugerated.
July, August and September are historically the most productive months. As an alternative there are numerous hill lochs for brown trout.
Additionally, sea fishing on local charter boats departing from Crinan or Ardfern is available and can be arranged on request.
Golf
Ardifuir is central to some of the finest golfing experiences in Scotland. There are a number of nine hole courses including the award winning Carradale, described as the "most sporting 9 hole course in scotland".
Along the coast there are eighteen hole courses in Oban, plus the championship links Machrihanish and Dunaverty. Or the island gems; Colonsay, possibly the oldest course, and the legendary Machrie on Islay, where Scotland's first open championship was held over 100 years ago.
Shooting
Ardifuir offers a fantastic range of shooting options for all. Poltalloch has a small, established pheasant shoot and several duck ponds for flighting. Elsewhere within the Estate are woodcock, snipe, geese and pigeon with walked-up and driven days.

Ideal numbers are groups of 6 - 8 but we are happy to cater for will cater for smaller groups.
For a complete shooting and stalking experience why not stay at Ardifuir, perhaps shooting on two days and deer stalking on another, the choice is yours and packages can be built to your exact requiremnets.
Shooting begins after the end of the stags, in late October, with the season ending at the end of January. Estate guns available on request, please contact us for more details.
Deer Stalking
Roe bucks - April 1 - October 21 (best months late April and May. July)
Red and Sika Stags - July 1 - October 21 (best months September and October)
Red and Sika hinds - October 22 - February 15
Roe Doe - October 22 - March 31
Good boots essential, wool advisable over gortex. Estate rifles can be provided.
Watersports
From Ardufuir you can undertake a range of exciting watersports. Under supervision of a qualified trainer you will be able to water ski & wake board behind 'Spook' the Ardifuir RIB. The west coast is also reknowned as one of the finest surfing areas in Scotland. Ardifuir provides an excellent base for surfing and sea kayaking. For beginners we can offer wetsuits, boards and even specialist tutition.
Marine Activities
We have a great range of marine activities available using either 'Spook' of one of the other locally based charter vessels providing a great opportunity for watching whales, puffins, seals, otters, porpoises, dolphins or for just sightseeing along our breathtaking coastline.
At Ardifuir we also work with a number of local partners to provide a range of boat charters, island day trips and tutition in a range of watersports.
Whisky
Close to Islay and its 7 unique malt distilleries. Travel over by boat or sea plane and sample the west coast's most powerful flavours. Tastings in Duntrune castle under the invaluable guidance of Robin Malcolm.
Food
Your host at Ardifuir is a qualified and experienced chef, classically trained in London and France. Now specialising in Scottish fayre using locally sourced produce offering the finest in lamb, beef, venison, wild fowl, feathered game, salmon, seafood including scallops, langoustine and lobster.

Ardifuir is well located for a number of the best local riding schools. Whatever your requirements from gentle hillside trek to advanced hack we will be pleased to put you in touch with the right riding centre for you.
